The Stuttgart photographer Tobias Bugala exhibits forty images from his portrait series of the over 100 inhabitants of the Schoenberg senior center. Bugala devoted many days to finding the unfiltered purity in each of his subject’s faces and the result is his impressive series “The People in Schoenberg”.
The long lives of these seniors are evidenced by the viewer through his truly authentic images. “There was no styling or make-up,” tells Bugala, and with only a few exceptions the images were not edited or enhanced. Taking its title from the series, an exhibition of forty black and white portraits will be on view from September 14, 2015 through January 31.
At the exhibition opening more than 100 guests, including local journalists were in attendance. Not only did the Stuttgarter and other regional newspapers report on its opening but photography magazines such as the DOCMA, did as well. The photographer was able to create a lot of positive attention to Stuttgart through this project. The forty large format canvas prints will be on exhibit at the Schoenberg senior center through the end of January 2015.
